Memory Café

Memory cafés were developed to provide a "safe haven" for those with memory loss.
The café welcomes those with memory loss, their friends, family or caregivers to gather together in a social environment where memory loss is expected… and accepted.
Memory cafes typically offer refreshments, music, activities, camaraderie and lively discussion.

The café is facilitated by community volunteers and a gerontology professional.
Good Shepherd offers a memory café the 2nd Thursday of every month in the Good Shepherd Community Center from 2:00-3:30 p.m. (no reservations are needed)

Cardio Classes

Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:00pm
$4.00 per class

This class is open to all.  It is a hi/low cardio workout geared to increase your cardio fitness, build strength and improve flexibility.  Activities may include cardio circuits, interval training, kickboxing, ab & core work and stretching.

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group

Good Shepherd Services along with the Alzheimer's Association are providing a support group for those who are caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's Disease. The monthly meetings are conducted on the 4th Tuesday each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at Good Shepherd Services. We offer informational speakers and care giving tips. There is also the opportunity for members to share experiences and learn from others in a confidential and supportive environment.

Foot Clinic

Good Shepherd offers a foot clinic the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.  The cost for this service is $24.00.
Service includes a foot soak, nail cutting/trimming, filing and lotion.

The clinic is held in the Good Shepherd foot clinic room located in Meadow Wood Assisted Living Phase 1

Medicare Update

Good Shepherd Nursing Home accepts the following Medicare Replacement Programs:

•  Network Health Plan (*Ascension Smart Health)
•  Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield
•  Today’s Options
•  Arise
•  United Health Care (*AARP / *Secure Horizons / *Care Improvement Plus)
•  Humana (*Medicare PPO / *Medicare PFFS Plans)

Good Shepherd is NOT in contract for Humana Medicare HMO Plans or Humana Medicare POS plans.

Good Shepherd Nursing Home accepts traditional/original Medicare and most supplement plans.

If you live in the nursing home, you can change your Medicare Replacement Plan, or you can change back to traditional Medicare AT ANY TIME.

If you are not living in a Nursing Home and currently are enrolled in a Medicare Replacement Program and would like to switch back to Traditional Medicare, you are able to do this during the open enrolment period offered annually.
